Author Interview: Carly Fall

**As an additional post for the A to Z Challenge, I also have an AUTHOR INTERVIEW!! (Hey, it starts with A, so it fits!! Enjoy! :) **

Welcome back for another spectacular author interview! Today we meet Carly Fall, author of Destiny's Shift. Now, the first thing I want to say about this author is that she is PATIENT. And I say this because I was supposed to have this post up on Friday, but unfortunately, Blogger screwed everything up, I had a family emergency Friday, then Blogger screwed up again Sunday, and by the time it was over, Blogger had deleted the post and replaced it with a duplicate post from earlier in the week. Not cool, but Carly was very patient and put up with it like a champ. So a huge thank you to Carly! Now, let's get to know Carly and her book, Destiny's Shift:

One hundred and fifty years ago, Warrior Jovan of the Six Saviors realized he had a gift: the ability to feel emotions through touch. Over the years, the gift has intensified allowing him to hear others thoughts, and this uncontrolled skill has forced him to keep his distance from both humans and those of his race. He fears the impact on his sanity if he doesn’t.

Liberty, an SR44 female has come to Earth by a set of circumstances beyond her control. Born into a life of servitude on SR44, she is alone, afraid, and stumbling her way through learning the customs and language of her new home on Earth. When Jovan meets Liberty, it becomes clear that they are of the same species, and Jovan takes Liberty under his wing, despite his commitment to himself to limit interaction with others.

As Liberty reveals the reasons for her coming to Earth, it becomes apparent that the Six Saviors are in danger, not only from the FBI, but also from those who have journeyed to Earth with Liberty, and they are seeking revenge. Jovan must quickly learn to control his gift, and Liberty is the only one who can help him. As they deal with danger from all sides, Jovan and Liberty must find a way to compromise on the lives they desire, or they will be forced to go their separate ways.

Word Count: 69,962

Awesome cover, and the blurb is fantastic! Let's meet the author, and pick her brain for a bit!

DSP: For starters, tell us a bit about you, we like to get to know our authors as a person!

Carly: Thank you for having me today. I live in Arizona and I am a wife, a mother and a slave to the dog, Nicky.  I love to laugh and think chocolate and wine should be considered their own food group. I also wish Christmas happened twice a year.

DSP: Nice to meet you! So tell us, where did you find the inspiration for your most recent book?

Carly: The book is part of a series. The inspiration for the series began when I was on a tour of a decommissioned missile silo in Tucson, Arizona. I thought about how cool it would be to live in one that was done over really, really nicely. I had been tossing around an idea of big alpha Warriors with eyes that glow at night, and it somehow all came together into the Six Saviors Series

DSP: Who is your favorite character in your book, and why? How about the character you had the most trouble with

Carly: In this book, my favorite is Jovan. He has an uncontrollable gift of being able to feel others emotions, which messes him up pretty well. Besides that, he's big and has shoulder length blond hair. I'm a sucker for that look.

Liberty was hard to write because she is a female born into servitude, and a complete innocent. It was difficult to nail down her voice, but I did have a lot of fun with her as well

DSP: Do you foresee any more books to continue this story? If so, do you think we can get a taste of what’s to come?

Carly: Yes. Tangled Fates, the next installment of the series, will be available in late April. There is a love triangle, a sacrificial oath, a ghost, and of course, a happy ever after.

DSP: Other than this most recent story, do you have any ideas for different books that might be published in the future? Care to give us a teaser?

Carly: I've got a full plate. Besides Tangled Fates, my contemporary romance for Decadent Publishing's Honor Guard Series is out in April as well. Later  this year there will be a new series started, and most likely another Six Saviors installment, and another contemporary romance

DSP: Who is your greatest inspiration to write? What person makes you believe in yourself, and how?

Carly: The voices in my head inspire me to write :) I swear I'm not crazy, and I think most authors will say that their characters talk to them.

My husband has been my cornerstone as far as encouraging me to follow my dreams and do what I love

DSP: Has becoming an author changed you, or the way you think about certain things? If so, how?

Carly: I think it has. I think I'm more willing to step outside of my comfort zone than I was before  becoming an author.

DSP: From the first word to the moment it became available for purchase, how long did it take you to write and publish this most recent novel?

Carly: Destiny's Shift took four months.

And now, for something completely different…some slightly off-the-wall and possibly irrelevant questions to help us get to know Carly in a different light!

DSP: Are you planning to bring sexy back?

Carly: I wasn't aware it left

DSP: Do you believe in fate or destiny?

Carly: Absolutely.

DSP: Boxers or briefs?

Carly: Most of the time, boxers.

DSP: Do you have any tattoos? If so, how many, what are they, and where are they on your body? (PG-13)

Carly: Yes. The night I graduated from college, I went to a tattoo parlor with three guy friends of mine. I went first, and I have a little devil on my butt. After watching me get mine, they chickened out. Sobriety wasn't involved, but I've never regretted it.

DSP: What’s your favorite candy? Ice cream?

Carly: M&M's. For ice cream, cookies and cream

DSP: Would the 8-year-old version of yourself kick your ass or praise you for what you’ve done with your life?

Carly: My 8-year-old version would be in awe of me. She was pretty shy.

DSP: Do you have any talents you haven’t shared with us?

Carly: I can flare my nostrils to the beat of music and do the splits. I can even do it all at once.

DSP: Imagine you’re the sole survivor of a plane crash at sea, and you awake stranded on a deserted and uncharted island in the Bermuda Triangle. Nobody knows you’re there, and you have nothing but the clothes on your back. You’re all alone, and there’s terrifying sounds coming from deep within the jungle. Late that night as you’re starving, a large suitcase washes up on the shore. You open it up. What’s in the suitcase?

Carly: A very alive Jason Statham. The rest will take care of itself.

Whoa, I'm down for the very alive Jason Statham...YUMMY!! Hehe, how about a quick bio from the author, now?
