I is for I...Don't Like Tornadoes

So, one of my biggest pain in the ass phobias is the fear of storms, primarily tornadoes. What luck! I live in an area that can get tornadoes 12 months out of the year! Oh, JOY!! Because, you know, panic attacks are just wonderful.

I saw something very similar to the pic below when I was a little girl. Probably what spawned my fear and loathing!

So, I have been flipping out since Tuesday about the storms that are supposed to hit us tomorrow morning. And they'll be going on all day tomorrow and I'll be all alone. Great.

I know this post was supposed to be up, oh, at least twelve hours ago, and I'm sorry I'm late, but as long as I don't get zipped away to Oz tomorrow or tonight, I'll have a much better post for you tomorrow.

  1. I feel your pain, not only do I live in tornado alley (or the far reaches of it), but I also live in a mobile home! But, at the same time, I'm strangely fascinated with them and have been all my life. I just hate that they always seem to happen at night when you can't see what's coming!

    1. I KNOW, RIGHT?! Like, if it happens during the day when I'm wide awake and it's visible, I can cope. But to not see it coming and have no idea...man, that is the scariest!! Of course, when I say I can cope, what I really mean is there's a high probability that I won't piss my pants, but I'm still gonna freak out. :) I can safely say I'm not fascinated, though. And I grew up in a trailer, so believe me, I know exactly how terrifying THAT can be!! Hoping there are minimal tornadoes this year for us both!! :)

  2. I'm glad to hear the tornadoes passed you by the other day! I used to live in the Midwest and while we only got them occasionally I saw enough to last a lifetime. Probably one of the only things that scares me to death! My husband, however, loves to seek them out...ahhh!

  3. Oh, you're not NEARLY as glad as I am that they passed! I have a horrible phobia, and my hubby likes to go outside and look for them too. Makes me sick to my stomach with nerves knowing he's out there skywatching and can get picked up by a tornado!
